Total Place launches website

Published: Fri, 04 Sep 2009 15:20:33

The Total Place initiative seeks to identify and avoid overlap and duplication between organisations – delivering a step change in both service improvement and efficiency at the local level, as well as across Whitehall.

The impact of the economic downturn means all of the public sector needs to find radical new solutions to not only deliver better value for money, but also better local services more tailored to local needs.

Total Place is an intensive piece of work that will look at a 'whole area' approach to public services. The 13 pilots - and other places undertaking similar work - will be working with Whitehall to share their evidence and recommendations for change, with a final report being made at Budget 2010.

More information is available on the Total Place website.
