The research, carried out by the Chartered Institute of Housing's
consultancy arm found that only around half of households facing
repossession proceedings attend court to defend their case. Many more were
missing out on a wide range of opportunities to get the help they need.
The report includes a model to predict where repossessions are likely to
happen so that households at risk can be helped with advice and support to
prevent them losing their homes.
