It's your home - lets keep it that way

Published: Thu, 12 Nov 2009 16:56:23

A major new report published today by Government Office South West and South West Councils has concluded that homeowners in this region must make more use of local level prevention services to stop them losing their homes.

The research, carried out by the Chartered Institute of Housing's consultancy arm found that only around half of households facing repossession proceedings attend court to defend their case. Many more were missing out on a wide range of opportunities to get the help they need.

The report includes a model to predict where repossessions are likely to happen so that households at risk can be helped with advice and support to prevent them losing their homes.

The full report can be found on the document links below.
