The South West Climate Change Impacts Partnership (SWCCIP), in partnership
with Defra, UK Climate Impacts Programme and Government Office for the
South West are hosting a week-long series of half-day events, Monday 14th -
Friday 18th September, in Taunton for organisations in the South West to
learn more about UKCP09 and the need to adapt to our changing climate.
The events, delivered by UKCIP, will examine what UKCP09 tells us about how
the climate will change in our region, emphasising the need to adapt to the
changes we are already locked into.
The week consists of 9 half-day workshops, which will give delegates a more
in-depth understanding of the practical application of UKCP09. In addition
to a number of open workshops, specific workshops are being offered for
local authorities, planners, flood and coastal risk management
practitioners, and those working in nature conservation.
There are also 9 User Interface sessions that will provide detailed
training on how to manipulate the data behind the projections.
