GOSW works with theatre company to spotlight issues facing children in care

Published: Thu, 30 Aug 2007 00:00:00

Government Office for the South West is supporting the Myrtle Theatre Company's premiere at the Tobacco Factory in Bristol of ‘City of One’, a play about the experience of children in care, performed by a cast including professional actors, and children who have been in care.

The play runs from 5-15 September. GOSW is using the opportunity offered by the production to highlight some of the themes in the Government's recent White Paper 'Care Matters: Time for Change'.   We are organising post-show discussions on 3 nights of the run (10-12 September) at which an invited panel, including senior officials from central and local government and national voluntary sector representatives, will discuss issues raised by the production with members of the audience.

Please see the attached flyer below for full information on the production, including performance dates and times, and how to obtain tickets.  For more information about the post-show discussions please contact the Children and Learner's Directorate using the details at the bottom of this page.
