Jane Henderson has a distinguished public service career, including posts in the Northern Ireland Office, H.M. Treasury, The Department of Employment, The Higher Education Funding Council for England and the Rural Development Commission. Also, Jane spent seven years as Regional Director in the Government Office for the South West. In 2004 she was appointed a Companion of the Bath (CB) for services to the South West.
Commenting on her appointment, Jane Henderson said: ''I relish this new challenge, especially as I shall be returning to the South West. It is a privilege to be serving the South West again, albeit in a very different role. "I am excited at the prospect of leading a business-driven organisation. I know that the RDA Board will help me to live up to their expectations of their Chief Executive.
"The South West RDA is entering a new and exciting era and I am determined to ensure that we unite the business, community and public sectors to deliver visible and durable changes in the development of our regional economy. We have an incredible opportunity."
