The South West is the most rural region in England. The population is increasing and putting pressure on communities, their services and the region’s environment. Our aim is to ensure that all areas - rural and urban - are properly served by government policy.
We are doing this by:
- Supporting the South West Rural Affairs Forum
- Ensuring that the Government's place based agenda is delivered effectively
- Ensuring that the needs of dispersed rural areas are reflected in mainstream social policies
