Avian Flu

Avian Flu restrictions in the region were lifted on 27 March 2008. It should be remembered that avian flu is a disease of birds, there are many types, some more virulent and pathogenic than others. Usually transmission straight from birds to humans is highly unlikely and depends on close and prolonged contact with infected birds.
