The Board meets three times a year to:
- Agree priority areas for support
- Share and promote examples of effective practice
- Share and examine key regional data on performance e.g. educational achievement, children’s health etc
- Disseminate Government policy around children, young people and families.
There are a number of sub-groups working on key issues for the SW such as:
- Children in Care
- Local Safeguarding Children Boards’ Network
- Emotional Health and Wellbeing
- A new sub-group working on the sharing of data analysis is planned to start work in Autumn 2008
