Allegations Management Advisors

Allegations Management Advisers (AMAs) posts have been created within the GOSW Children and Learners Directorate. Their role is to support Local Safeguarding Children Boards (LSCBs) in ensuring that local organisations can efficiently and fairly deal with cases of allegations of abuse against people working with children.

This work will involve providing advice and support to local authorities, the police and Crown Prosecution Service about the development of appropriate local guidance and training materials. AMAs will also share information on the evaluation of local procedures, including good practice and training materials, with other regions, stakeholders and DCSF.

Georgie Mackintosh and Erica Whitfield are the AMAs for the South West region based in GOSW. They will also work closely with the Childrens Services Advisers (CSAs) and Karen O'Donnell, Policy Lead on Safeguarding.

Georgie Mackintosh covers Bristol, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire, Gloucestershire, Somerset, Devon, Torbay, Plymouth, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. Contact her on georgie.mackintosh@gosw.gsi.gov.uk

Erica Whitfield covers Dorset, Bournemouth, Poole, Swindon, Wiltshire and Bath and North East Somerset. Contact her on Erica.whitfield@gosw.gsi.gov.uk
