Regional Development Agencies (RDAs) help to stimulate economic growth, in
line with Government's commitment to sustainable improvement in the
economic performance of all English regions.
Regional Chambers, or Assemblies, are regional planning bodies. They also
scrutinise the activities of RDAs, and are responsible for co-ordinating
and integrating regional strategies.
In the South West, these organisations are the South West Regional
Development Agency and the South West Regional Assembly.
Our role is to make sure that delivery of Government policy by
these regional organisations is joined up and to be the link with
central Government.
More information about the work of GOSW is linked below. An
explanation of the work of the three organisations can be found in
'Regional Organisations - A Guide'.
